Exchange and reflection about cultural values

KEY AREA

Intercultural Knowledge

The University attaches great importance to contextual intercultural knowledge by conducting research and teaching that reflects on historical, religious, linguistic, gender-specific and other aspects of cultural development.

In 2022, the Interfaculty Research Cooperation "Religious Conflicts and Coping Strategies" successfully completed its four-year work and presented its results. The "Anna Tumarkin Lectures in Philosophy" were launched, a lecture series honoring the work of leading international women philosophers. And the "Eastern European Studies Bern-Fribourg" invited to panel discussions that addressed the role of the media in the Ukraine war and developments in the post-socialist region of East Central Europe.
